SacriFire Announced, Undergoing Kickstarter Campaign

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs and Warsaw developer Pixelated Milk has announced its latest project, SacriFire. The game is inspired by 1990s JRPGs and is currently undergoing a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

SacriFire follows Ezekiel Ridan, a soldier attempting to work his way into an elite group within the Church of Sheol while keeping the underground city of Antioch safe from the demons above. Ezekiel is armed with the DIVOS, a pair of gauntlets that are capable of transforming into different astral forms.

Combat is a mixture of real-time and turn-based, with players able to string attack chains together. Enemies have affinities and weaknesses for players to take advantage of, with individual body parts able to be targeted. Combat will also incorporate movement, while players will be able to obtain Virtues that grant increased abilities to certain weapons and playing styles, as well as upgrade their weapons. The game will also feature puzzles that require players to interact with the environment in different ways.

SacriFire is planned to initially launch for PC, with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch versions to follow. Composer Motoi Sakuraba is attached to the project as a contributor for its soundtrack alongside G4F Records. Pixelated Milk is looking for €82,000 (around $99,000) in funding by July 13, 2021. Those who pledge at least €20 (around $25) will receive a digital copy of the game as part of their backer rewards.
