New Release Round-Up (May 6, 2021)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases.


Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance is a remaster of the game originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2001 and for Xbox and Nintendo GameCube in 2002. The game is a hack-and-slash action RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms campaign setting and includes local two-player co-op. A spiritual successor, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 22, 2021.


Chroma Quaternion

Platform: PC, Xbox One (previously released on iOS, Android)
Publisher: KEMCO
Developer: EXE-Create
Available: Microsoft Store, Steam
Price: $14.99 (10% launch discount)

Chroma Quaternion is a retro-styled RPG set in a world of four kingdom each governed by a particular season. The game’s combat is role based, with each party member able to choose form three potential roles.


Dragon Quest Builders 2

Platform: Xbox One (previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch)
Publisher: Square Enix, Omega Force
Developer: Square Enix
Available: Microsoft Store
Price: $49.99 (also available on Xbox Game Pass)

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a follow-up to 2016’s Dragon Quest Builders and combines crafting, town management, farming, and action combat. The game takes place after the events of Dragon Quest II, where a cult called the Children of Hargon have declared all things building and crafting related to be heretical.
