New Release Round-Up (August 5, 2021)
Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases.
Bless Unleashed is a free-to-play MMORPG that features both PvP and PvE gameplay. Players can choose from five classes and four races to create a character with which to explore the world of Lumios.
Dodgeball Academia is set in a world where dodgeball dominates, and follows Otto, a student at the eponymous academy seeking to become the ultimate champion. The game features a story mode with sidequests and mini-games, and players can unlock new members and upgrade their team through character and party progression systems.
Dragon Star Varnir
Dragon Star Varnir is a turn-based RPG that stars Zephy, a knight who becomes lost in a remote forest. He is rescued by a witch, but in the process drinks the blood of a dragon that attacked him, causing a special power to awaken.
Dreamscaper is a roguelite action RPG following Cassidy, a young woman living in a quiet town. During the day she interacts with other townsfolk, while at night she is transported to a dream world where she faces the manifestations of her past. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened
Dungeon Defenders: Awakened acts as a reboot for the series, with players selecting one of four heroes. The game sees up to four players setting up and upgrading their defences to protect core crystals from being destroyed by waves of enemies. Those looking to read more about Dungeon Defenders: Awakened can check out RPGamer’s review of the PC version. In addition, free update The Lycan’s Keep is now available on PC and Xbox One. It adds the Rogue and the Warden as playable characters, as well as four maps and new challenges, plus an overhaul of the game’s item system.
Jupiter Hell is a roguelike shooter RPG set on the moons of Jupiter. Players take control of a lone space marine who finds himself stranded and pitted against overwhelming demonic forces. Players collect weapons like shotguns, railguns, chainguns, and chainsaws, and can customize their character with items and abilities. The game features permadeath as well as additional difficulty options unlocked after completing it.
The Falconeer is an aerial combat RPG that puts players in the role of an airborne warrior who fights using ranged weapons above the Great Ursee. The new platforms’ Warrior Edition includes all of the current DLC as well as the new Edge of the World content pack, which also releases today on previous platforms.
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles
Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is an adventure title that takes place on an island known as Gemea, which is slowly being consumed by a dark power known as the Murk. Players set out on a quest to save the island, joining forces with creatures named Sprites that are able to disperse the Murk.
