New Release Round-Up (February 11, 2021)

Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week.


Aground

Aground is a 2D survival game following one of the surviving crew members of a crashed spaceship on a distant planet. Over the course of the game, players will be able to mine for resources, farm crops, craft tools and weapons, and build their settlement into a full-fledged city. Exploring the planet will advance the available technology and lead to new discoveries, including magic, fire-breathing dragons, airplanes, and space flight.


Dragonborne

Platform: PC (previously released physically on Game Boy)

Dragonborne is a turn-based RPG built using GB Studio. Players control Kris as he journeys through Argon in search of his father Kurtis, the region’s greatest dragon slayer, attempting to find him before the dragon awakens. The game contains roughly 6-7 hours of gameplay with mini-quests, puzzles, armour and weapon upgrades, and multiple endings.


Healer’s Quest

Platform: Nintendo Switch (previously released on PC)

Healer’s Quest is a lighthearted RPG where players take on the role of a party healer. While the rest of the party members concentrate on dealing damage to the enemy, players will need to ensure they stay alive. There are twenty-two spells to unlock, as well as skill trees and three karma alignments to choose from.


Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption

Platform: Nintendo Switch (previously released on PC, Mac, Linux)

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption was created by Lori and Corey Cole, who worked on the Quest for Glory series as well as various other Sierra On-Line titles. The game follows Shawn O’Conner, a new student at Hero University. During the day Shawn aims to attend classes, make friends, and practice his skills, while at night he explores the university’s mysterious castle, fighting monsters in tactical turn-based combat and collecting loot. Osteoblasts

Platform: PC

Osteoblasts is a dungeon-crawling RPG where the player is a skeleton that is revived by Witch Cat. Players start off by picking a class before journeying to find a purpose in life, while battling against the dogs who dug the protagonist out of his would-be eternal resting place. UnderMine

Platform: Nintendo Switch (previously released on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One)

UnderMine is an adventure roguelike that puts players in control of a peasant venturing into the titular dungeon in search of treasure and relics. Numerous NPCs can be rescued, who will provide powerful upgrades if returned safely to the game’s hub.
