Gamescom Trailer Shows Unexplored 2 Gameplay with Developer Commentary
In a trailer released as part of IGN Live X Gamescom, developer Ludomotion showed off five minutes of gameplay from its upcoming roguelite action RPG Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy. Narrated by Game Director Joris Dormans and Composer and Audio Designer Matthijs Dierckx, the trailer follows the nameless hero on a procedurally generated quest to awaken a magical statue known as a Flow Elemental. Awaking it will cause more powerful magic to flow into the world, impacting it for all future generations of player characters.
Unexplored 2 utilizes a legacy system in which the actions of past heroes affect those that follow. Character death is permanent, but players are given the option of guiding a new hero to continue the fallen one’s quest of destroying the mysterious Staff of Yendor, or starting fresh with a new adventurer in a brand-new world. The game will release in Q1 2021, launching simultaneously on Xbox One and Xbox Series X, as well as PC via the Epic Games Store.
