The Magister Announced, Limited-Time Beta Starting Next Week
Publisher Digerati and developer Nerdook Productions have announced deck-building murder-mystery RPG The Magister. The game is in development for PC, with a limited-time beta set to begin on August 13, 2020. Those interested in participating in the beta are able to sign up here.
The Magister sees players controlling an agent of the Emperor who is sent to the rural village of Silverhurst to investigate the disappearance of another agent. Players have fourteen days to solve the case with the game using a card-based encounter system that allows for both violent and diplomatic resolutions. Each playthrough is generated, leading to different culprits, events, and clues in each run.
Each Magister has strengths and weaknesses, including hallucinating enemies or being a fanatical member of a church.
