Digimon Survive Gets More Screenshots and a New Character

Bandai Namco has added new screenshots and information regarding its upcoming strategy RPG Digimon Survive. A new character and a companion Digimon have been added to the cast, and the Free Action System was introduced. The screenshots can be viewed below.

Saki Kimijima is a regular schoolgirl who is very outspoken, and ends up getting cast aside by her supposed friends when her class goes on a summer camping trip. She meets up with the game’s protagonist, Takuma Momotsuka, and wanders into another world with Takuma and his friends. Despite the harsh change in their surroundings, Saki has a positive demeanor and believes everything is going to be okay for the group. While exploring the new and strange world, Saki runs into Floramon, a small Plant-type Digimon that has reptilian-styled evolutions. Floramon takes an immediate interest in Saki and the two become friends.

Digimon Survive explores story elements with text-based adventures. The game features a search command that allows players to discover survival methods during crisis situations. There is a free period where players can choose where to go and whom to talk to within a preselected time window. During these Free Actions the group will scatter around the map. Players can pick an area to explore and speak to Takuma’s friends which can introduce new information and deepen their bonds. There will also be places to go where players can enter battles to train Digimon and collect items.

Digimon Survive is scheduled to release in 2020. The game is being developed for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
