Code Vein Visits Spa Ahead of Demo Release

Bandai Namco has revealed more details and images for Code Vein. The information is joined by today’s release of the game’s free demo version on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which lets players access its character creation, opening area, and a dungeon called The Depths.

Though set in a hostile post-apocalyptic world, Code Vein allows its characters to relax in the bathing waters at the spa in their base. By relaxing at the spa, players will recover half of the Haze that was dropped on their previous defeat, letting them at least recover some if they deem it too risky to return to the place where it was dropped. Players can also use the spa to revisit past events and look up in-game terminology.

Bandai Namco also provided details about the Prometheus blood code, effectively the game’s class system, that is received from Louis. The Prometheus blood code is generally well balanced, but is a bit fragile and focuses more on dodging and parrying than taking hits. New screenshots also showcase the Phantom Assault skill, which causes the user to briefly disappear into mist before performing a jumping slash, and the Fire Storm skills, which send out a set of flaming projectiles that can stagger opponents.

Code Vein is set in a world where a phenomenon called the Thorns of Judgment has laid waste to human civilisation. As a result of this phenomenon, surviving humans have gained supernatural abilities at the cost of severe bloodlust that can turn them into members of the mindless cannibalistic force wandering the world known as the Lost. Code Vein is set to launch on September 27, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
