Monster Rancher Gets New Japanese Port

Koei Tecmo has announced a port of PlayStation title Monster Rancher, known as Monster Farm in Japan. The port will be released in Japan for iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch later in 2019. No announcement has been made regarding a western release of the port.

Monster Rancher was released in 1997 and spawned numerous other games, as well as an anime series. The game sees players raising monsters to fight against other monsters. New monsters in the original game were summoned by inserting valid CDs. As the port will not have that capability, players will be able to instead search a custom database. Players will also be able to download and fight against those raised by others, with the Nintendo Switch version allowing two-player co-op.
