Monster Rancher Japanese Port Release Dates Set

Koei Tecmo announced Japanese release dates for its smartphone and Nintendo Switch ports of PlayStation title Monster Rancher, known in Japan as Monster Farm. The game will launch on iOS and Android first on November 28, 2019, with the Nintendo Switch version releasing on December 19, 2019. No announcement has been made regarding western releases for the new versions.

Monster Rancher was released in 1997 and spawned numerous other games, as well as an anime series. The game sees players raising monsters to fight against other monsters. New monsters in the original game were summoned by inserting valid CDs. As the port will not have that capability, players will be able to instead search a custom database. Players will also be able to download and fight against monsters raised by others, with the Nintendo Switch version allowing two-player co-op.
