Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX Out Now

Koei Tecmo’s Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX is now available worldwide. The bundle contains remastered versions of Monster Rancher and Monster Rancher 2, which were released separately in Japan in 2019 and 2020. Monster Rancher 1 & 2 DX is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS for $29.99.

Monster Rancher (known as Monster Farm in Japan) originally released for PlayStation in 1997, with Monster Rancher 2 following in 1999. The games see players generating and training monsters for use in fighting tournaments against other monsters. The remastered versions include additional save slots, Freeze slots, and Monster Hall of Fame slots, as well as a memo feature to use while raising monsters, rankings for random battles, and a high-speed mode. The games’ monster-generating feature, where players used physical CDs to spawn different monsters, has been reworked so that players can search a database to find CDs.
