Rune Sequel Renamed Rune II, Receives Summer Release Window

Human Head Studios has announced that its sequel to 2000’s hack-and-slash adventure title Rune has been retitled Rune II. Previously known as Rune: Ragnarok and subsequently Rune, the game is planned for release on PC in summer 2019 through the Epic Games Store.

Prior to the announcement, the game was undergoing an Early Access campaign on Steam. All of those who pre-ordered the game before May 22, 2019, will receive what they ordered as well as an additional digital copy of the game, but Human Head Studios is also offering no-questions-asked refunds to anyone who wishes to cancel their order following the announcement. The refunds are available to claim until June 5, 2019, using the dedicated form.

Rune II is not a direct sequel to the original game, but takes place in the same universe. The game sees players controlling a character chosen as Midgard’s saviour, tasked with ending Ragnarok before Loki and his minions can destroy Midgard.
