Bethesda Details Upcoming Fallout 76 Updates

Bethesda has announced some more update plans for online survival RPG Fallout 76. The updates will all be released for free and are split into three major groups to be released throughout 2019. The first of those groups is Wild Appalachia, the content of which will be released during spring 2019, with Nuclear Winter to follow in summer 2019 and Wastelanders to come in fall 2019.

The first parts of the Wild Appalachia content will arrive on March 12, with the various updates adding the following:

  • Two new quest series: “Shear Terror!” and “Ever Upwards”
  • New legendary gear vendor and ability to scrap unwanted legendary items for different gear
  • C.A.M.P. decorating, player vending, and a new camera
  • Brewing and distilling systems and recipes
  • Fasnacht Parade seasonal event
  • New Survival game mode

Bethesda also revealed a few details about the Nuclear Winter content. It will include a new game mode titled Nuclear Winter that changes some of the key rules in the Wasteland. There will also be new Vault Raids in the newly opened Vaults 96 and 94, as well as a prestige system for players above level 50.

Fallout 76 was released in November 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is set in 2102, twenty-five years after the nuclear assault that turned America into a wasteland. Players control dwellers from the titular Vault 76 in West Virginia, tasked with reclaiming and rebuilding civilisation. The game is always online, with every human in the game being controlled by a player.
