Fallout 76 Getting Survival Mode

Bethesda has revealed some of its upcoming plans for Fallout 76. Chief among these is a new game mode dubbed “Survival”. When starting the game, players will be able to choose from Adventure or Survival modes, with Adventure being the current Fallout 76 experience. Survival mode focuses more on PvP, with all players other than teammates flagged as hostile, letting players attack each other without restrictions. The initial beta implementations of Survival mode will also include some experimentation with rules, such as death mechanics. Survival mode will be added in a beta version pat of the game’s Patch 5, which is targeted for launch at the end of January. The patch will also include multiple bug fixes and other tweaks to the game.

Fallout 76 was released in November 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is set in 2102, twenty-five years after the nuclear assault that turned America into a wasteland. Players control dwellers from the titular Vault 76 in West Virginia, tasked with reclaiming and rebuilding civilisation. The game is always online, with every human in the game being controlled by a player.
