Desert Child Hits the Circuit with Launch Trailer

During the Kinda Funny Games Showcase, publisher Akupara Games released an official launch trailer for the indie racing RPG, Desert Child. Developed by Oscar Brittain, the game casts players in the role of a down-on-his-luck hoverbike racer, attempting to scrape together enough money to leave Earth and get to Mars and compete in the Grand Prix. This means doing anything you can to make a buck, including completing side quests, hunt bounties, deliver pizzas, and even throw hoverbike races.

Desert Child features a stylized pixel art style, a lo-fi hip hop soundtrack, as well as combat and racing mechanics for players to master. The game releases digitally in western markets on December 11, 2018, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam, with an Xbox One release following the very next day.
