Dragon Quest XI Becomes Less Elusive with Prologue Video
Square Enix has invited players to get one step closer to the latest release in one of its flagship franchises. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is just around the corner, and in this latest video, players can get a sneak peek at how the story begins. The video opens on a curious little creature waddling through a bustling town square, unnoticed by happy revelers all around. The reason for the merriment is quickly revealed: a child has been born in the nearby castle, to the joy of the king and queen. But things soon take a dark turn, as monsters descend on the castle, forcing the queen to flee for her life with the babe in her arms, sending it off to an uncertain fate as her pursuers catch up with her.
Dragon Quest XI releases on September 4, 2018, in North America and Europe simultaneously, with several improvements and additions over its Japanese counterpart, including the Draconian hard mode and English voice acting. PC and PlayStation 4 owners can still preorder the Edition of Light, which comes with a few bonus in-game items, while console gamers can also go for the full Edition of Lost Time, which includes a steel case, art book, physical map, and symphonic soundtrack suite.
