More Crystar Story Details Revealed
FuRyu has revealed more media and story details for its upcoming title Crystar. As previously detailed, the game stars Rei, a young girl who is transported to a mysterious world that is home to the souls of the deceased, eventually coming across her little sister Mirai, who has also been transported there. The two come across a woman named Anamnesis, who is the one who brought them to this world. Rei attempts to fight Anamnesis, but loses control of her newly-awakened powers and ends up killing Mirai.
At this point a devil appears to Rei, stating that if she does as the devil asks, he may be able to bring Mirai back before she falls too far into limbo. Rei thus enters a contract with the twin devils Mephis and Pheles, making her their proxy. Rei is tasked with two main jobs: dealing with the spirits and ghosts of the mysterious limbo world, and gathering special crystals that grow there. To accomplish these, Rei travels between the real world — where she remains only in her room, with just her dog Selma to keep her company — and the world of limbo.
Crystar is being developed by the studio Gemdrops. The game is planned for release on PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 18, 2018. No announcement has been made regarding a western release.
