Frostkeep Announces Early Access Beta for Rend

The faction-based survival title Rend is leaving its closed alpha stage and heading for beta on Steam Early Access at the end of July. Independent developer Frostkeep Studios, formed by veteran devs from such titles as World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and League of Legends, is looking for continued player input as the game is refined toward its final release. “We have been developing Rend side-by-side with our players since we first announced the game and are grateful for the invaluable feedback they provided to help shape Rend into what it has become today: the game they want to play,” said co-founder and CEO Jeremy Wood.

Rend drops players into a world inspired by Norse mythology, asking them to commit to one of three factions before they explore the sandbox game world and engage in PvP faction battles, resource collecting, crafting, and unlocking skills to develop their character. The combat campaigns are stated to be month-long affairs geared towards a massive scale.

Rend‘s Early Access beta will be available to PC players via Steam on Tuesday, July 31, for $29.99. For more information on the game, check out RPGamer’s E3 impression coverage when we got a chance to sit down and chat with the developers last month.
