City of the Shroud Hits Steam in August

Abyssal Arts has announced that the first chapter of its real-time tactical RPG City of the Shroud will be released for PC and Mac via Steam on August 9, 2018. The chapter is the first of four, with the following three chapters to be released every few months ahead of a complete edition that will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019. The game is priced at $19.99/€19.99, which grants access to all four chapters.

The chapter structure of the game is designed to allow for a social experiment, where player decisions made by Steam players in the first chapter of the campaign will have an influence on the development of subsequent chapters. Players can replay the game and make different decisions, but only the players’ first playthroughs will influence the development.

City of the Shroud is set in the city of Iskendrun, which is enveloped in a magical shroud and beset by monsters from another dimension. Combat is real-time with an adjustable speed and focuses on combos that utilise a fighting game-inspired control scheme.
