SWERY Plays The Good Life

While in the middle of a Kickstarter campaign, White Owls Inc. has released a lengthy gameplay video, viewable below, of an early build of The Good Life. Clocking in at twenty-four minutes, the game’s director Hidetaka Suehiro (otherwise known as SWERY) narrates (with English translation) and takes viewers around the small English village that forms the setting for the game. The video shows off several different side quests, the intricacies of camera control, and how the inhabitants of the village change their actions when they are watched by the main character.

The Good Life is a debt-repayment life simulation RPG where players control Naomi, a photographer from New York who takes a job from a newspaper company to document the “happiest town in the world.” All is not as it seems, and strange events start happening after a murder occurs. The game is planned for release on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2019.
