Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Development Confirmed

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have confirmed that development is currently underway on a sequel to 2016’s Tom Clancy’s The Division. Massive Entertainment is leading development on Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, with collaboration coming from multiple studios in Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Bucharest. The game will use an updated version of the Snowdrop engine used for the first game.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is an online third-person shooter-RPG released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is set in near-future New York City in the aftermath of a smallpox pandemic. Players control sleeper agents, who are activated to help restore order. It is not yet known whether The Division 2 will feature the same setting, with more details about the game set to be revealed at E3 in July.
