Metal Max Xeno Hits Japan in April

Kadokawa Games announced that Metal Max Xeno will be released in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on April 19, 2018. The game will be released with two special editions: a limited edition containing a three-disc 25th anniversary soundtrack for the series and an art book, and a premium edition containing a digital copy of the soundtrack. Both editions also come with two pieces of exclusive DLC equipment.

In addition to announcing the release date, Kadokawa Games also introduced two more characters and released a new three-minute trailer for the game. The first character is Dylan, who was the boss of a group of thieves until they were killed by the mechanical SoNs aiming to wipe out humanity. The other character is Maria, an experience solider, she is the only survivor from her squad of soldiers from a nearby town.

Although set in the same post-apocalyptic world as the previous games in the series, Metal Max Xeno marks a bit of a refresh, taking place in a different time and location with some adjustments made to its history. No announcement has been made regarding a western release.
