It was unclear whether Hideo Baba’s departure was the prelude to further news regarding Square Enix’s Studio Istolia. The company has now confirmed that the studio is no longer in operation and that its planned debut title is cancelled.
A little over two years after joining as president of its new Studio Istolia subsidiary, Hideo Baba has left Square Enix. There is no news on how the studio’s planned debut title is affected.
Sony held its annual pre-TGS presentation showing some upcoming PlayStation titles. A number of RPGs appeared, including new teasers for projects from CyGames and Studio Istolia, a Final Fantasy remaster, a release date for God Eater 3, and a brand new title from the studio behind Yakuza.
