Expeditions: Samurai Discusses Homesteading
THQ Nordic and Campfire Cabal posted a new developer diary for historical-themed tactical RPG Expeditions: Samurai. The new post details the game’s homesteading feature, which forms part of the game’s third act as they become a local lord. While players will need to camp in the first two acts of the game, in the third act, players will have their own village to return to and manage between missions. Players will be able to unlock upgrades to their village by completing quests and inviting characters to join it, with crafting being one element keenly impacted by recruiting new followers.
Expeditions: Samurai is the fourth title in the series, following Expeditions: Conquistador, Expeditions: Viking, and Expeditions: Rome, and is currently available on Steam Early Access. The game is set in a version of early 1600s Japan where William Adams’s role as Japan’s first European Samurai is usurped by the player character on account of them arriving first. Arriving onboard the Dutch frigate “De Albatros” as the new leader of a crew of privateers, players are drawn into a civil war, with their choices determining the fates of their crew and the future of Japan.
