Yami Kids Releasing in September, Dokimon Quest: II Announced

Developer Yanako RPGs announced that its dark fantasy monster taming RPG Yami Kids will release on September 23, 2026. The game, which underwent a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign last year, will be available for PC via Steam.

Yami Kids follows twins Yuki and Yumi Yami in a world where people battle using monsters called Oni. Players control one of the twins, who is orphaned at a young age before being trained as a battler, while the other twin follows them around as a ghost. The game’s world features Simulated Battles that take place during the day and Shadow Duels that take place at night involving real monsters. If players lose a Shadow Duel, they are sent to the Underworld, where they can find unique items, visit mysterious places, and perform other activities before they make a deal with the being of the Underworld to return to the world of the living.

In addition, the developer announced Dokimon Quest: II, a sequel to creature-collecting RPG Dokimon: Quest, which released for PC in 2024 before coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025 as Doki Monsters: Quest. The game is in development for PC, and is available to wishlist on Steam.

Dokimon Quest: II sees players travelling between modern world and an Edo period-inspired history in order to save their friend. It returns players to the region of Xelos, which is inhabited by Doki Monsters that can be trained by humans and used as battle partners. The older time features different Dokimon to the present, plus more focus on bartering and trading. Dokimon Quest: II will also include mounts, dungeons, and customisation options.
