Lie of Caelum: Spirit Undergoing Kickstarter Campaign

Developer Classi5ed has begun a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its sci-fi RPG Lie of Caelum: Spirit. The campaign is looking for $34,000 in funding and is set to run until September 30, 2026. Those who pledge at least $20 will receive a digital (Steam) copy of the game as part of their backer rewards, with a limited number of $18 tiers also available. The game is currently in development for PC, with potential console versions included as one of the campaign’s stretch goals.

Lie of Caelum: Spirit is inspired by the PSX-era alongside titles such as Xenogears and Phantasy Star and is a follow-up to the developer’s previous title, Lie of Caelum. The game is set in the world of Caelum and sees a squad of social opposites forced to team up to solve a social crisis, to later discover that their understandings of the world does not line up, with identity, philosophy, and political conflict identified as key themes.

Players will swap between on-foot and mecha exploration and turn-based combat, with the game also including shoot-’em-up segments as well as various mini-games. The game uses timing systems where players can chain inputs to unleash powerful techniques and execute guards to reduce damage. Players can use robots called Link Catalysts to aid in battle, which can be used to gain an advantage in visible field encounters. The game’s main campaign is said to be sixty-plus hours, with twenty-plus hours of “meaningful” side content. Its soundtrack blends electronic and orchestral elements, and will include contributions from various composers, including Motoi Sakuraba.
