Armed Fantasia, Penny Blood Kickstarter Now Live

Developers Wild Bunch Productions and Yukikaze have begun their shared Kickstarter campaign for spiritual successors to the Wild ARMs and Shadow Hearts series. The shared campaign for Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood has a ¥100 million (around $720,000) campaign goal and is set to run until September 30, 2022. Those who pledge at least ¥5,800 (around $42) will be able to receive a digital copy of one of the games or ¥11,000 (around $80) for both, with numerous other digital and physical tiers also available. Both games have separate counters for their own individual stretch goals based upon the pledges received, as well as a shared counter. The launch of the campaign comes with new trailers for the games as well as the Kickstarter campaign.

Armed Fantasia is being developed by Wild Bunch Productions, which is being led by Wild ARMs series creator Akifumi Kaneko. The game is set on a world heading to destruction and sees players venturing across a “Westernpunk” wilderness. Penny Blood is being developed by Yukikaze, which is being led Shadow Hearts creator Matsuzo Machida. It features a 1920s gothic horror setting and follows an investigator called Matthew Farrell across America, Europe, and Asia in a world twisted by cosmic horrors.

Both games feature other veteran staff of Wild ARMs and Shadow Hearts and are being developed for PC and consoles, with the Kickstarter indicating initial planned release estimates of 2025.
