Genshin Impact’s Luna VIII Update Launching July 1

HoYoverse announced that its Luna VIII update for free-to-play action RPG Genshin Impact will release on July 1, 2026. The update, also known as “Sunny Summer Fontinalia”, will see players reunite with Sandrone before heading to the Frost Moon. The Frost Moon is a brand new expansive area beyond the skies of Teyvat, where a strange power permeates the surface. The update will add Sandrone as a playable character, a 5-star Cryo Claymore wielder, as well as a new Cryo-Electron reaction in combat. It also includes new Fontinalia Film Festival and Miliastra Wonderland content.

Genshin Impact originally released in September 2020 and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android. Players control a character in the world of Teyvat known as “the Traveler” and must embark on a journey to find their missing sibling. They are joined by NPC companion Paimon, travelling in a party of up to four active members.
