Destiny 2 Receiving Final Content Update in June

Bungie announced that it will be releasing the final content update for online sci-fi shooter RPG Destiny 2 on June 9, 2026. Titled “Destiny 2: Monument of Triumph”, the update will act as a celebration of the game, including a mixture of additions and returning elements. Full details about the update, plus a message from the development team, can be found here.

A sequel to Destiny, Destiny 2 originally released for 2017 and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game continued the Light and Darkness Saga of the first game, following humanity’s efforts to fight off hostile threats in the Solar System, which was brought to a close with the release of the Destiny 2: The Final Shape expansion in 2024. The final update comes following the game’s “Year of Prophecy” content, which was intended to start a new multi-year Fate Saga story for the game, though those plans have now been curtailed. The game is intended to stay running for the foreseeable future.
