Bel’s Fanfare Kickstarter Campaign Underway

Spanish developer Chibig launched a Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming title Bel’s Fanfare. The game, which is billed as taking inspiration from the first 3D Zelda titles, is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game will include English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, and Valencian language options.

Bel’s Fanfare is set in a fantasy world where a substance named aura stems from impurities of soul, such as anxiety, heartbreak, and traumatic memories. The game follows Bel, a Ukobach that has been appointed as the new aura cleaner of the once-luxurious vessel The Witch of the Sea. Exploration and combat require the use of a gong-shield, which can absorb aura, block projectiles, play music, catch fish, and more. As the player progresses through the game, they uncover the past history of The Witch of the Sea and can elect to help various magical beings. They can also choose different resolutions for quests, each with its own consequences.

The Kickstarter campaign, which will run until March 7, 2026, already exceeded its funding goal. The stretch goals include new shield skins, side content, secret boss, modes, minigame, and more. Those who pledge at least €18 will get a digital copy of the game, which is expected to release in October 2027.

Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly became obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
