Newest Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Adventure Log Shows Vocations
Square Enix released the third part of its Adventure Log video series for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. The four-minute video introduces the game’s combat and vocations systems. The game’s turn-based combat sees the party using vocations, or classes, that determine their skills. Players gain proficiency in their vocation as they use it, and can unlock advanced vocations. The game’s “moonlighting” system also lets characters assign two advanced vocations at once. In addition, the company released new screenshots from the early parts of the game.
A full remake of 2000 title Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined version features a diorama-style aesthetic, as well as additional content, features, and quality-of-life improvements. The game starts on Estard Island, an idyllic kingdom in a world with no other apparent landmasses. However, a group of childhood friends uncovers a way to travel back to the past, when other continents existed, and are able to restore them in the present. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will release for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 5, 2026. A demo is currently available on all platforms, with players able to transfer their save data to the full game.
