Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity Details New Elite Specializations
ArenaNet has provided further information for Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, its upcoming newest expansion for MMORPG Guild Wars 2. The developer detailed the nine new Elite Specializations coming in the expansion. Each of the game’s professions (classes) gets its own additional Elite Specializations with the new additions as follows:
- Troubadour (Mesmer) — Troubadours replace the usual Mesmer visual clone and instead utilise waves of sonic magic. Its instruments can enact various effects in battle, such as damaging enemies or supporting allies.
- Galeshot (Ranger) — Using tengu marksmanship, the Galeshot generates special arrows with the power of wind that can help it control the battlefield with whirlwinds and tornadoes.
- Luminary (Guardian) — The Luminary acts as a protector and is wrapped in the flame of its Radiant Shroud. It can use four new weapons of light and flame that provide various passive bonuses and alternate abilities.
- Ritualist (Necromancer) — The Ritualist is inspired by the progession of the same name from the original Guild Wars. Guild Wars 2′s version sees it summon weapon spells to provide effects to nearby allies as well as summon the spirits of Anguish, Wanderlust, and Preservation to attack enemies.
- Antiquary (Thief) — The Antiquary makes use its Pilfer skill to get its skritt companion to steal from enemies to create random improvised weapons. It can use its skills while on cooldown, but at the risk of suffering from detrimental effects.
- Paragon (Warrior) — Wielding a spear and shield, the Paragon builds up its motivation resource by using skills. Motivation can then be channeled into shouts that hinder enemies or bolster allies.
- Conduit (Revenant) — The Conduit channels the legend Razah and gains the ability to use Cosmic Wisdom and Razah’s different forms. Each form grants buffs or debuffs, while skills build the affinity resource that increases the duration of Cosmic Wisdom.
- Evoker (Elementalist) — The Evoker selects a specialized element that impacts their traits and utility skills as well as reduces recharge time for its respective attunement skill. It can also use that element to call various animal spirits that have their own skills, including a special empowered skill.
- Amalgam (Engineer) — The Amalgam shares a symbiotic bond with its subject and melds into various forms depending on the situation. It replaced the usual engineer utility abilities with this morphing power that grants various boons, buffs, and control effects.
Visions of Eternity is set to release for PC on October 28, 2025, priced at $24.99. Its story involves rumors of an island rich with magic known as Castora. The Tyrian Alliance learns that a group of researchers known to cause danger around Tyria called the Inquest is in search of this island. Players set off on a new adventure to try and learn what the Inquest’s goals with the island are. The expansion includes two maps on the island of Castora, whose magics have warped the local flora and fauna.
Guild Wars 2 is set 250 years after the events of the original Guild Wars. It was originally released in 2012, becoming available on Steam in 2022, and currently has five expansions: Heart of Thorns, Path of Fire, End of Dragons, Secrets of the Obscure, and Janthir Wilds. The game and expansions are available as buy-to-play titles.
