I haven’t played many Castlevania games, but I enjoyed both Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow, so I’d recommend either.
As for whether I 100% an RPG or not, it really depends on how much I’m enjoying a game, and if I find the side activities fun. If I really like a game and if I think the side stuff is worth doing, I’ll do it. I do find that while I won’t always complete a game 100%, I’ll do as much of it as I can. If I find something too difficult or tedious, I’ll just ignore it and finish the game.
I would really recommend Castlevania Aria of Sorrow. It’s just a bonkers set up in the fuuuuture of 2035 and has an anime season’s worth of plot twists. Poor Soma has to deal with so much drama and all he wants to do is leave the damn castle.
