Ardenfall Coming to Steam Early Access This Year

Developer Spellcast Studios announced the release of its upcoming RPG Ardenfall on Steam Early Access. The Early Access version will launch later this year, and is avaialble to wishlist now. The developer has not yet stated how long it expects the game to spend in Early Access.

Ardenfall is set on the titular island and lets players create their own character, choosing their race, attributes, traits, and more. The game features first-person combat, with players using weapons and casting spells in real-time. The open-world exploration lets the player journey through three regions, visit three major settlements, and explore dungeons filled with monsters, treasures, and secrets. Players can join various factions, choose to commit crimes, or fight for justice. Players’ decisions potentially impact economics of regions, strengthen the citizens trust or distrust, and alter the quests’ unfolding and outcome. A demo of Ardenfall is currently available on the game’s Steam page.
