Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow would be my answer. I loved Red as a kid, and even wanted to get Yellow, but never got around to it before Gold and Silver came out. While I wouldn’t call the first generation archaic, it does feel too old and dated for me to enjoy now. If I wanted to play a Kanto game in 2D, there’s always Fire Red and Leaf Green.
Rayman used to be so much fun for me, but now that I’ve adjusted to playing it again, it’s not fun anymore, even though the game company is trying to make it more modern.
Pong and the early Atari games like Adventure. Yes, im old.
Due to all the quality of life changes the series has experienced over the years, I don’t think I could enjoy the slow paced slog that would be Pokemon Red anymore.
