Monomyth Available on Early Access
Developer Rat Tower released first-person dungeon-crawling RPG Monomyth in Early Access on Steam and GOG.com. The Early Access version is available for $19.99, with a 10% launch discount until October 13, 2024. The game, which underwent a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign in 2021, is expected to spend around six to twelve months in Early Access.
Monomyth is set in an apocalyptic fantasy world that combines magic and technology. The game follows a prince who sets out in the footsteps of a failed expedition to the fallen fortress city of Lysandria, where there is said to be a primeval seed that can put an end to the chaos, soon learning that the fortress is not as deserted as it appears.
Monomyth features classless progression with players developing their character build using six attributes and thirteen skills. Players has numerous ways to interact with the world, finding items and puzzles as well as monsters and peaceful inhabitants. It uses a keyword-based dialogue system, with players also able to combine items to use in their surroundings. The initial Early Access version includes two major areas, a central hub, and several smaller dungeons.
