Crystar Coming to PlayStation 5 in Japan

Developer and publisher Furyu announced that it will be releasing a PlayStation 5 version of its action RPG Crystar in Japan. The PlayStation 5 version will launch digitally and physically in the country on February 27, 2025, with no news regarding a western release as of yet. The company also revealed a Digital Art Book Edition, which includes a digital copy of the game and 80-page digital art book. The PlayStation 5 version will include all the previous DLC from the PlayStation 4 release.

Crystar initially released on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2019 before being ported to Nintendo Switch in 2022. The game is themed around the afterlife, and follows Rei Hatada, a young girl who supposedly kills her younger sister Mirai after being drawn into Purgatory. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as much as gameplay. Now, I am writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
