Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land Gets March Date, More Details

Following the game’s announcement last week, Koei Tecmo provided more details for Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land, the latest entry in Gust’s long running Atelier series. The update includes the game’s planned release date of March 21, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It also includes a ten-minute “First Look” presentation presented by Junzo Hosoi, head of Gust.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is set in a world where alchemy has become taboo. The game follows protagonist Yumia Liessfeldt and her allies as they set out to uncover the lost history behind the Aladissian Empire, where alchemy was said to thrive. Yumia is a young alchemist who lost her mother in an accident while young. Her mother hid her identity as an alchemist, with Yumia’s journey seeing her confront her past while seeking out the truth behind the cataclysm that destroyed Aladiss.

Yumia’s quest sees her joining the Aladiss Research Team alongside siblings Viktor and Isla von Duerer. From the influential Duerer family that suffer ruin after a mana disaster three year prior, Viktor is Yumia’s superior; he is honest and has a strong sense of justice, though can be inflexible. Isla is Viktor’s younger sister and is both bright and fashionable, able to support her brother with her thoughtful nature. Rutger Arendt is another member of the research team and is an oprhan who has grown up to become a seasoned adventurer with a love for valuable items. Nina Friede is one of the team’s most mysterious members. She always appears relaxed but guards her thoughts, and has mercenary and investigative experience. Finally, Lenja is a Welleks demihuman, the only one in the team. She has high physical abilities and mana aptitude, but lacks confidence.

The game takes players across the vast continent that was formerly the Aladissian Empire, covering multiple biomes. As usual for the series, players will find various ingredients and materials in the areas needed to craft items to use for their quest in both combat and exploration. A new Simple Snythesis feature will let players craft items out in the field without having to return to their home base, while a new Building feature will let players build, furnish, and decorate their home. The game’s synthesis system will feature manipulation of embedded mana within items.
