Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land Offers Systems Overview
Koei Tecmo and Gust released new media and details for the latest title in the Atelier series, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land. A new four-minute trailer offers an overview of some of the gameplay systems, while new screenshots show some of Yumia’s allies as well as further gameplay elements. The game is currently set to release on March 21, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is set in a world where alchemy has become taboo. The game follows protagonist Yumia Liessfeldt and her allies as they set out to uncover the lost history behind the Aladissian Empire, where alchemy was said to thrive. Yumia is an alchemist who lost her mother in an accident while young, and is joined by flying companion Flammi, who used to belong to her mother. Also joining Yumia are Licht, a highly skilled informant; Wilma, a passionate anthropologist; Erhard, the leader of the Research Team; and members of a small and friendly tribe called Alber.
Through the journey, players will uncover “memory vials” in dungeons and ruins. These are remnants of the past that provide information on the field, such as the location of relics. These vials can also be dismantled for rare synthesis materials. In addition, players can use keys to gain access to various treasures, such as “trait crystals” that can be used to upgrade items and equipment. Players will also be able to find “mana geysers” that release particles used to unlock new recipes.
Exploration will see Yumia and company sometimes venture into “manabound areas”. These gradually deplete energy, resulting in it being impossible to run and also reducing the party’s combat abilities. Alstahlia Flowers can be found to restore health, while the extra mana can be dissipated by finding and restoring landmarks, making it easier to explore. Finding landmarks will also offer players new quests, with companions also offering their own unique quests alongside various other quests that be found throughout the game.
