Octopath Traveler Titles Now on All Modern Consoles

Square Enix has released Octopath Traveler on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as Octopath Traveler II on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The releases mean that both games are fully available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with both Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II included on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. In addition, a free update to Octopath Traveler II is now available on all platforms, which adds a new Extra Battle mode, challenging players who have completed the game with taking on powerful new foes.

Both games utilise Square Enix’s HD-2D graphics system and follow the intertwined stories of its eight protagonists, each with their own class, though feature independent characters, settings, and stories. Players select one of the protagonists to start their journey, eventually crossing paths with the other heroes and recruiting them to the party, after which they can play through the new recruits’ stories.
