We kick off another #JRPGJuly, our month-long community game-along! The RPGamer staff tells us what they are planning to play for the month-long celebration of all things JRPG.
Chris suffers from “The Curse of the Steam Deck.” Kelley can’t pickpocket, so she mugs people at night. And Ryan likes practical grave robbers. Curl up in your clothmap quilt and enjoy our cozy ’60s demon world.
Despite generally positive reviews, the first Octopath Traveler had its fair share of specific criticisms. Playing to its strengths, while working to fix perceived weaknesses, Octopath Traveler II delivers a masterpiece of a turn-based JRPG.
Chris hugs a bear. Kelley’s kitten almost Leeroy Jenkins into a toilet. Matt knocks everyone out in Octopath. And Jason goes round right round with his turntable.
Square Enix released a free demo for Octopath Traveler II. The three-hour demo is available now on PS4, PS5, and Switch, is coming to PC tomorrow.
Square Enix introduced the final two playable character for Octopath Traveler II. Information on Ochette and Castti comes alongside a new trailer, some more screenshots, and a few other details.
Square Enix introduced two more of Octopath Traveler II’s playable characters. Throné the Thief and Temenos the Cleric will be able to team up in February.
Square Enix released new media for Octopath Traveler II. The video and screenshots introduce Partitio the Merchant and Osvald the Scholar, two more of the game’s eight playable characters.
Square Enix provided more information for Octopath Traveler II. A new set of images and details introduce additional gameplay elements as well as protagonists Hikari and Agnea.
In addition the recent mobile title, Octopath Traveler is getting a full console follow-up. Octopath Traveler II will tell a new intertwined story in a new world next year.
