Sand Land Dev Diary Discusses Dungeons, Subquests

Bandai Namco released a second developer diary video for the upcoming Sand Land. The six-minute video once again features Game Producer Keishu Minami and Social Marketing Manager Samantha Reinert, who discuss the game’s map and places players can visit. The game will feature large multi-level dungeons as well as smaller ruins that players can explore. Vehicles will be important for exploring dungeons, and players will be able to find upgrade materials within them.

Sand Land will also feature various subquests that expand upon the world. Players will build up their own base of operations, and as they help people around the world, they can take up residence within the base, which will unlock new stores and facilities.

Sand Land is based on the 2000 manga of the same name from Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama and is set in a desert world where humans and demons are suffering from a water shortage. The game follows Beelzebub as he joins Sheriff Rao and the demon Thief to search for a Legendary Spring. Players explore the world on foot and in a variety of vehicles, with the game featuring both vehicular and character-based combat. The game is being developed by ILCA for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, but does not currently have a release date. Bandai Namco also announced that an animated series is in development and will air in spring 2024 on Disney streaming platforms.
