Astral Throne Demo Coming Soon

Developer and publisher Zero Sun Games has announced that the roguelike strategy RPG Astral Throne will receive a demo on April 4, 2024, for PC via Steam. The demo focuses on the first act of the game and will allow players to provide feedback to the developers. The game, which has drawn comparisons to the Fire Emblem series, combines grid-based strategy RPG combat with the randomness of roguelike adventures.

Astral Throne puts players in the role of a hero exploring an island kingdom enveloped in amnesia-inducing fog after being hit by a falling star. Very few people who venture to the mysterious island survive; those who do are left with faint visions of a cult that has taken control and worships the fallen star. Players must be strategic with the use of weapons at their disposal and making the most of the unique abilities of each hero, as the game features permadeath for every unit. Every decision made results in different outcomes based on random skills, characters, loot, and story events. Each playthrough randomizes character relationships and story arcs, revealing pieces of the overall mystery every time the game is replayed.

I have been gaming since I received the Sega Master System as a young child, which was the first console I ever owned (Yes, I am that old). The game that got me into RPGs was Final Fantasy VIII, a game that I still adore to this day. My favorite RPG of all time, however, is Shadow Hearts on the PS2. I do have many other interests outside of gaming as well, such as watching old-school wrestling, Reading books, 80s movies.... or anything 80s related as a matter of fact.
