Star Ocean: The Second Story R Demo Available
Square Enix released a demo for the upcoming science-fantasy action RPG Star Ocean: The Second Story R. The free demo is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. It includes access to around the first three hours of the game, and lets players utilise the dual protagonist system to follow either Claude or Rena. Progress from the demo can be transferred to the full game. To go along with the demo, Square Enix also released a new eight-minute gameplay trailer and new screenshots, which can be viewed below.
Star Ocean: The Second Story was originally developed by tri-Ace and released for PlayStation in Japan in 1999, followed by North America in 2000 and Europe in 2001, with a PlayStation Portable remaster later released worldwide. The Star Ocean: The Second Story R remake will feature 2.5D graphics with full Japanese and English voice overs, original and re-arranged music, new battle mechanics, and more. The story sees Claude, an ensign in the Earth Federation, trapped on Rena’s medieval-technology planet of Expel. Star Ocean: The Second Story R will release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on November 2, 2023.
