Odencat Announces Dream Channel Zero

Japanese indie developer Odencat announced its latest project, Dream Channel Zero. The game is billed as a “surreal and quirky adventure” and sees players attempting to escape from the world of a mysterious video game. It is planned for release for PC, Mac, and Linux through Steam in winter 2024.

Dream Channel Zero follows a boy named Akira, who is sucked into the world of a video game. He meets a seemingly normal girl in a teal hoodie named Rumiko and the pair team up to find a way out. The game is divided into multiple channels that players can switch between, with the stages within each channel laid out on a retro map that includes encounters, shops, and optional events.

Players will encounter a variety of ghostly inhabitants in the surreal world. Each battle is unique and is said to have its own trick to emerging victorious. The game will also feature an assortment of eccentric NPCs, while its music is being composed by electronic producer Xavier LeBlanc.
