Final Fantasy XIV Ascends The Dark Throne with Patch 6.4

Square Enix held its Letter from the Producer LIVE Part LXXVI livestream for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. The presentation is the first revealing and detailing the contents of the upcoming Patch 6.4, which is titled The Dark Throne. The update is planned for release in late May 2023.

As with other major updates, it will include the next part of the main story content, as well as further content for the Tataru’s Grand Endeavor sidequest series. The subsequent Patch 6.45 will feature the next part of the Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures sidequests plus more Further Manderville Weapons and new Splederous Tools.

 

 

Patch 6.4 will also introduce a new dungeon, the Aetherfont, plus a new Trial, the Voidcast Dais, which will have an Extreme version, as well as a new Unreal difficulty version of the Containment Bay Z1T9 Trial. The latest next tier of Pandæmonium raid content, Pandæmonium: Anabaseios, will also be available with the Savage difficulty versions to be released a week after the main patch.

Meanwhile, Patch 6.45 will introduce the second part of the Variant and Criterion Dungeons, Mount Rokkon. Players do not need to have completed the previous dungeons, Sil’dihn Subterrane, to unlock Mount Rokkon. In addition, NPC Duty Support will be available on the main scenario dungeons for the Stormblood expansions up to Ala Mhigo.

 

 

There will be some job adjustments for both PvE and PvP, as well as PvP content updates including the start of the seasonal Series Four, a new season of the Crystalline Conflict, and Frontline UI and rule adjustments. In addition, the special Blue Mage job content will be getting an update in Patch 6.45. This update will increase the level cap to 80, add new spells and exclusive gear, as well as new enemies to the Masked Carnivale.

Other content includes an update to ocean fishing with a new route available towards Kugane. There will also be more Island Sanctuary content with new sanctuary ranks and visions, item rewards, new materials, craftable items, crops, animals, handicrafts, and structures. Support will be also be added for outdoor furnishings in the hideaway. A new tomstone gear currency, Allagan tomestones of comedy, will be added with the maximum number of gear set to be increased to 100 for all players and other UI improvements.

 

 

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is the fourth expansion to the MMORPG — following Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers — and was released for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in December 2021. The 2023-2024 Final Fantasy Fan Festival series will be running over the next year. The North American Fan Festival will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 28-29, 2023. The European Fan Festival will be held at ExCeL London in London, United Kingdom on October 21-22, 2023. The Japanese Fan Festival will be at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan on January 7-8, 2024.
