The Caligula Effect: Overdose PS5 Release Announced

NIS America announced that it will be releasing a PlayStation 5 version of FuRyu’s The Caligula Effect: Overdose later this year. A $49.99 standard physical edition is available to pre-order now through NIS America’s online store in North America — and will be available from March 3, 2023, in Europe — that includes bonus set of five art cards.

The Caligula Effect: Overdose is an enhanced remake of PlayStation Vita title The Caligula Effect, including a female protagonist, various new characters, and revamped visuals. The game originally released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2019. It sees players trapped inside a virtual school called Mobius created by a virtual idol named μ (Mu), where they join up with like-minded individuals trying to escape back to reality in the Go-Home Club and fight against μ’s enforcers, the Ostinato Musicians. A follow-up, The Caligula Effect 2, was released in 2021.
