Darkest Dungeon II Fully Launching in May

Developer Red Hook Studios announced that Darkest Dungeon II will fully release for PC on May 8, 2023. The full version of the game will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with the game having been in Early Access on the Epic Games Store since October 2021. A limited-time demo is also available today on both Steam and the Epic Games Store through the duration of Steam Next Fest.

A follow-up to 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. The game features a refined version the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each run lasts from 30 minutes to several hours, but each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.
