Monster Hunter Rise Heading to PlayStation, Xbox Consoles
Capcom announced that it will be releasing Monster Hunter Rise on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will release on the new platforms on January 20, 2023. It will be included on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service for eligible Xbox consoles, PC, and cloud services. In addition, the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion will hit the same consoles in spring 2023.
Monster Hunter Rise originally released for Nintendo Switch in March 2021, with a PC version released in January 2022, and is the latest mainline title in the series. The game includes two new major gameplay features — Wyvern Riding and the vertical-movement-assisting Wirebug — while Palamutes join Felynes as support-based companions. It also adds the Rampage, a gameplay mode where players are tasked with defending the village from numerous monsters attacking at once with assistance from defensive emplacements
The Sunbreak expansion launched for Nintendo Switch and PC in June 2022. Sunbreak includes a new storyline, as well as new locations, new monsters, a new quest rank, and new gameplay features.
