Final Fantasy XIV Gods Revel, Lands Tremble Update Date, More Details Announced

Square Enix held the second Letter from the Producer presentation for MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV dedicated to the newest major Patch 6.3 update for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. The presentation began with the reveal of the update’s trailer, as well as its January 10, 2023, release date. The English trailer and the full presentation, in Japanese audio only but with English and Japanese slides, can be viewed below.

The Patch 6.3 update is titled “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble”. The presentation began with a reminder of the previously-revealed details regarding its main story, sidequest, and challenge content, but did include the new reveal that the Ultimate Duty #5 — coming in the Patch 6.31 update two weeks after the main Patch 6.3 update — will be The Omega Protocol (Ultimate).

Other additions include job adjustments, as well as new PvP content with the start of PvP series three and season five of the Crystalline Conflict, including the new Clockwork Castletown arena. There will also be new tool enhancement quests for crafting and gathering jobs in Patch 6.35, plus new Custom Deliveries and new details added to the game’s Fish Guide. Other additions include new treasure hunt maps for the Shifting Gymnasium Agonon, and a new Leap of Faith: Sylphstep course in the Gold Saucer.

There will also be some user interface adjustments. Icons will show the damage type in both the battle log and flying text, and players can display the remaining buff and debuff time for party members in the party list. There will also be a new alternate Clear Blue UI theme, and more ease-of-use features for glamours, fashion, and more.

The largest job adjustments are reserved for Paladin and designed to improve its ability to deal burst damage, its versatility, and certain defensive actions. This is being primarily done by shortening its rotations and adjusting the effects of certain actions, and re-introducing the Bulwark ability with a revamped version.

Finally, Square Enix announced the dates and locations for the 2023-2024 Final Fantasy Fan Festival series. The North American Fan Festival will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 28-29, 2023. The European Fan Festival will be held at ExCeL London in London, United Kingdom on October 21-22, 2023. The Japanese Fan Festival will be at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan on January 7-8, 2024.

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is the fourth expansion to the MMORPG — following Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers — and was released for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in December 2021.
